Liverpool doctor ‘touched colleagues’ breasts’

Ms A said:“I felt sick really. I was a bit gutted,”

GMC counsel Sharon Beattie said that management became involved last year, after it became apparent to Ms A that “others had been the subject of unwanted attention”.

She said: “The remark in particular to Ms E about pregnancy, Ms A found this disgusting and she was upset that others had experienced similar problems.

“By this time, she said that something had to be done.”

Ms Beattie told the panel that when management spoke with Dr Azim about the allegations he seemed to be saying “if this had happened, these ladies wouldn’t have carried on working with me’.”

Dr Azim has admitted examining Ms D’s neck for lumps and placing his hand under her left and right arm.

He does not accept the other allegations..

The hearing is expected to last until August 5.
