Defendants charged with murdering teenage Liverpool army cadet Joseph Lappin appear in court

TEN people charged with the murder of Liverpool army cadet Joseph Lappin appeared in court.

Joseph, 16, from Old Swan, was knifed to death outside the Shrewsbury House youth club, Langrove Street, Everton, on October 20. His parents, John and Toni, watched on yesterday as six men and four youths appeared at Liverpool magistrates court.

Colin Cain, 20, of Barmouth Way; Anthony Preston, 21, of Eldonian Way; Anthony Smith, 22, of Heriot Street; Colin Yell, 21, of Snowdon Lane; John Paul McDonald, 21, of Wilcock Close; and Thomas Riding, 18, of Houlgrave Road, all Vauxhall, and four youths were all remanded in custody by District Judge Richard Clancy.
