LIVERPOOL model Abbey Clancy and former Reds striker Peter Crouch have announced their engagement.
The 23-year-old, from Croxteth Park, who found fame on Britain’s Next Top Model, was on holiday in Sardinia with boyfriend Peter when he asked her to marry him.
Clancy’s agent, Jonathan Hackford, confirmed the couple’s engagement last night, but said no date had been set for the wedding.
Clancy emerged as a high-profile WAG during the 2006 World Cup but the couple briefly split up after allegations about the model and an ex-boyfriend surfaced in several newspapers.
England striker Crouch, 28, is in talks over a possible £12m transfer from Portsmouth to Sunderland.
The footballer, who is famed for his “robot” dance when celebrating, arrived back at Newcastle International Airport at around 11.10am yesterday, after Sunderland agreed a fee with Portsmouth at around midnight on Wednesday.
