Liverpool burglar jailed

A BURGLAR was jailed for six months after a crackdown on car crime in Liverpool city centre.

Carl Anthony De la Cruz senior, 34, was caught by police who were looking to stop a recent rise in car crime.

During the operation, evidence was gathered using intelligence from the local community, CCTV and an unmarked police car.

Officers then raided two addresses, arresting De la Cruz, of Upper Frederick Street, in the city centre, and finding stolen property.

De la Cruz was charged with a burglary from May and two offences of theft from motor vehicles.
