A MAN who had an 18-month sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl has been jailed.
Steven Bainbridge, 33, was sentenced to four years and four months after admitting abusing the girl between June, 2007, and January this year.
Liverpool Crown Court Judge David Swift said: “It appears you developed some emotional dependence, believing you were in love with this girl.
“You took advantage of her. She was young and vulnerable and you exploited that.”
Neil Gunn, defending, told how Bainbridge’s crimes had been sparked by the break-down of his long-term relationship.
