Holidays can be a real headache

PEOPLE planning to pack up their troubles with a trip away find sorting out their suitcases the biggest cause of pre-holiday tension, it was revealed.

As many as 39% get stressed out working out what to take and finding enough room in their bags, a survey of 5,300 people by Norfolkline Ferries found.

Worrying about the weather was another source of anxiety.

Also, 15% of parents reckoned that wrapping up office work was a cause of tension, while 25% were concerned about finances.

The poll also showed that 31% of parents never played with their children on holiday, while it took parents up to two days into a holiday before they started to relax.

Psychologist Donna Dawson said: “The irony is that we take holidays to escape the stress in our lives, but we often find that we have to endure more stress on the way to our holiday destination. This could include wrapping up at work, making arrangements and packing.”
