A DOG walker was attacked last night as she walked through Hesketh Park in Southport.
She had wounds to the back of her neck and hands. Police are waiting to speak to woman to establish whether they were knife wounds.
The incident happened at 8.45pm. A passerby alerted the police and the victim was taken to Southport and Formby hospital.
Her injuries are not life threatening. A friend quickly arrived on the scene to take care of the woman's pet pooch.
