Gateacre and Woolton welcome North West in Bloom judges

GATEACRE and Woolton welcomed North West in Bloom judges.

The two villages are hoping to plant and prune their way to being crowned champions in Liverpool’s Year of the Environment.

Joint chair of Woolt-on in Bloom, Cllr Barbara Mace, said: “Our flowers and planting displays now attract visitors and help boost the local economy. We also attract gardeners and community organisers from far and wide.”

Woolton has won Best Large Village in the North West for the last five years, and last year won Gold at the national Britain in Bloom awards.

Gateacre Village has been runner-up and second runner-up in the Small Village category.
