PROTESTERS brought their anger to Cheshire this week after a turbine factory threatened to axe hundreds of jobs.
Workers have been staging a sit-in at Vestas Wind Systems plant, in the Isle of Wight, since last Monday.
But, on Saturday, the demonstrations spread to Warrington where the firm has its headquarters.
Campaigners from the Respect party staged the protests at the Danish company’s British head office in a bid to stop the factory closing next week with the loss of more than 600 jobs.
Meanwhile, in Newport, the main town on the Isle of Wight, dozens of climate change and environmental activists have set up a camp outside the site in support of the workers who have been insisting they will continue with the occupation for “as long as it takes”.
But they could face legal action to prevent their efforts to halt the closures as the Danish owners are planning to go to court next week to seek a possession order.
