TWO men were last night being questioned over the discovery of a live grenade outside the home of Liverpool FC icon Kenny Dalglish.

Officers were called to Selworthy Road, in Birkdale, at around 10.15pm on Sunday night, following reports of two man acting suspiciously.

The call was made by John Ball, who has been subjected to a hate campaign in recent months against him and his associate Terry Riley, after he saw the figures outside his home.

The businessman, who has this year seen his home shot at and several of his businesses firebombed, said he thought he saw two people carrying a gun.

Two men were arrested nearby and a search of the scene found the live grenade outside Dalglish’s home.

The Daily Post understands the incident was not targeted against the ex-Liverpool boss.

Dalglish is currently in the Far East with LFC’s pre-season tour.

Before officers arrived following Mr Ball’s call, two men sped away in a silver-coloured Lexus, which was found dumped nearby.

Two men in their 20s were arrested nearby on suspicion of witness intimidation.
