“They offer ideal dream sequences, so he signs up.
“In the first half, he goes on a fantastic James Bond-like adventure, shooting people and chasing girls and getting pieces of information he has to pass to somebody else.
“He wakes up thinking he’s had the most fantastic dream, because that’s the idea, but then slowly begins to realise that in fact, it was all real and he’s been used.”
Wirral International Film Festival organiser Alan Veste describes Daniel Fox as “definitely one to look out for”.
He said: “I think it’s a great result and it shows that we’re serious.
“There are serious film-makers out there and they need to have their work shown.”
Mr Fox enlisted the help of his brother Joe to write the musical score and build mock-up cityscapes to aid special effects, while professional actors and actresses worked for free to bring the project to fruition.
The film-maker has pedigree, having already picked up a best international short film award at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, for his 2004 production, Vendetta.
