Footballing legend opens charity shop at hospital
FOOTBALL legend John Barnes opened a newly refurbished Merseyside hospital charity shop.
Fans flocked to see the Tranmere Rovers’ Manager and former Liverpool FC player opened the League of Friends shop at Arrowe Park, following a £52,000 refurbishment.
Staffed mainly by volunteer workers, the charity’s goal was to give a clean and modern look to the shop in the main entrance of the hospital.
Mr Barnes said: “My last daughter was born here at Arrowe Park and as a father of young children, who have to use A&E from time to time, I know this hospital very well and I know how well they look after you here.
“I am delighted to have been invited back to reopen the Arrowe Park League of Friends' Shop.”
