Sleeping woman struck by roller

A WOMAN is recovering after a heavy duty lawn roller careered into her tent as she slept.

Emma Winch, 26, suffered minor head injuries when she was struck by the roller as she slept in Aberaeron, west Wales.

Police arrested 21 men, all from the Merthyr Tydfil area, following the incident in the early hours of Saturday morning. All 21 men have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Ms Winch, a female rugby player, was due to take part in the youth ladies rugby tournament in Aberaeron yesterday. Aberaeron Rugby Club has been hosting a Festival of Sevens tournament since Thursday with the main men’s event taking place today.

Glyndwr Evans, the club secretary, confirmed last night that the Merthyr Tydfil youth team has since been dismissed from the tournament.
