A FORMER barmaid has received compensation after being assaulted by two drinkers.
Ann Joyce, 28, was left with a black eye, bleeding nose and a cut face after the incident on New Year’s Eve, 2006.
But the GMB union member won £7,500 compensation after instructing EAD Solicitors.
Ms Joyce, who lives in Allerton, said: “It’s worked out really well for me. I didn’t work for nearly eight months so I’ve had to scrimp and borrow from my parents and this gave me the money to pay all that back.
“It was nice to get money back and get some compensation for what happened.”
Two drunken customers in Yates’s, on Allerton Road, became abusive and Ms Joyce tried to calm the situation but was punched in the face by one of them.
