LDP Legal: Liverpool Law Society embarks on Wirral outreach project

Headline speakers booked for conference

LIVERPOOL Law Society is embarking on a mass outreach campaign aimed at boosting its profile among Wirral’s solicitors.

The Wirral Roadshow will kick off with an exhibition and conference at the Floral Pavilion, in New Brighton.

Seminars at the conference will give valuable advice on merging firms, networking and dealing with the media.

One of the headline speakers will be Peter Scott, who was managing partner of Eversheds’ London and Europe Offices. He will speak on “Merging Law Firms – the essentials for success”.

Norman Jones, joint honorary secretary of the law society and chair of its Wirral project sub committee, told LDP Legal: “This is one of the most exciting events that the Liverpool Law Society has organised for years.

“I hope that the legal profession will support the Wirral Roadshow in a way that has never happened before. I believe that attending this event will be a great opportunity to see the Liverpool Law Society close up and enjoy the best seminars on offer.”

The two other seminars will be delivered by former BBC journalists. Award-winning TV reporter and producer Alistair Macdonald will talk about the power of networking.

He now teaches directors, partners and senior managers how to connect with contacts at business events. Meanwhile, broadcast journalist Jane Cheater will hold a seminar on the importance of understanding your local media, and why it can be difficult to portray a positive image.

A legal exhibition will also be running outside the seminars.

Law society president Charlie Jones said: “This event is on the Westside and I look forward to seeing many of my fellow Eastsiders at the event, to network and mingle with our Wirral colleagues.”

The conference will be held next Thursday, September 17, from 4pm to 7pm. Entrance will cost £15 and will earn delegates 1.5 CPD points. To book tickets, go to www. liverpoollawsociety. org.uk/legal events
