THREE masked men threatened staff at a Liverpool city centre supermarket with a knife.
Stunned customers saw the gang burst into Tesco, on Hanover Street.
The gang stuffed cash in their pockets before escaping in a black VW Golf outside.
It sped off in the direction of Parr Street and Seel Street. All three men had their faces covered and were wearing dark clothing and dark jackets.
One man was around 5ft 10in tall and slim.
Another was of medium build and around 5ft 9in tall, and the third man around 6ft tall .
No one was hurt.
