Dominique Williams funeral

MORE than  500 mourners attended the funeral of a popular 20-year-old woman who was killed as she travelled to the Creamfields dance festival.

Well-wishers packed St Andrew’s church in Maghull this afternoon to say goodbye to Dominique Williams.

At least 100 people were unable to get inside the church as it was so packed and remained outside in the sunshine.

The cortege arrived on Damfield Lane with the first car bearing a large floral tribute that simply said, Dominique.’

The coffin of the former Deyes High pupil was placed in a white horse drawn carriage, with a small framed picture of her propped up at the back.

In the service led by Rev Nick Wells, the hymns Kum Ba Yah and He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands were sung.

Friend Nikki McConchie gave a heartfelt tribute to the Edge Hill University student and cousin Luana Bolster, aged eight, sang the Celine Dion track My Heart Will Go On.

Inside the cortege, flowers and messages adorned the vehicle including one which said: “R Dom. Such a special girl. We will cherish the moments we shared. You will always be in our thoughts and in our hearts.”
