New Knowsley Park Centre for Learning in Prescot opens

HUNDREDS of pupils stepped through the doors of Knowsley Park Centre for Learning, in Prescot, this week.

The £25m school was one of three to open across the borough as part of the Government’s flagship Academies programme.

Greeting new pupils at Knowsley Park was schools minister Iain Wright, whose responsibilities include education for 14-19 year olds.

By the time it is fully opened at the end of this week, the centre will house 1,200 Year 7 to 11 students.

The school will serve Prescot, Whiston and the wider community.
