Everton Foundation riders arrived victorious in France

AFTER four days, 310 miles and 113 punctures, the Everton Foundation London to Paris bike ride team tasted success.

Bringing traffic to a complete standstill at the Arc de Triomphe, the charity fundraisers, including Everton’s Chief Executive Robert Elstone, and former Liverpool Council deputy leader Derek Hatton, enjoyed a well-earned lap of honour around the famous five-lane roundabout.

Over the four days the riders battled heavy rain, howling head-winds and steep hills on their quest to raise vital funds for The Everton Foundation.

The gruelling route started in London, passing through the Kent Downs, before crossing the English Channel into France, passing the battlefields of the Somme and Agincourt.

Their sponsorship will go towards delivering sports- related disability programmes.
