Marco Pierre White to appear at Liverpool Food and Drink Festival

Food lovers will be able to enjoy live music, hourly cooking demonstrations from some of Liverpool’s most talented chefs, beer tents and a children’s play area.

Event organiser Denise Harris said: “Sunday’s event will offer a vast selection of food and drink for all tastes and aspirations.

“The success of last year’s festival helped us to create an impressive line up for 2009.

“ I think this magnifies the fact that Liverpool has become such a fantastic restaurant and bar hot spot.” Candice Fonseca, owner of Delifonseca, in Stanley Street, which was named restaurant of the year at this year’s Tourism Awards, said: “The festival promises to be a great day out for the city’s ‘foodies’ and also for local families as it gives them the opportunity to try an array of different cuisines; some that they may have never tried before.”

Throughout next week, restaurants and bars around the city will host special events and offers for diners, specifically designed for certain days.

On Monday (September 14), the theme is £15 per head, Tuesday is “chocolate and cheese”, Wednesday offers the chance to enjoy all the best of the festival at half price, Thursday is organic and locally sourced day, Friday is fish, Saturday “Let’s Lunch” and on Sunday, there is a day out for the family courtesy of the Hope Street Feast.
