A TEENAGER charged with the murder of a baby girl will appear at Preston Crown Court later this month.
The case involving the 17-year-old from St Helens, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was committed for a preliminary hearing on September 21.
The six-week-old baby, from Skelmersdale, was taken to Ormskirk Hospital on January 9 and later transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where she died on January 16.
A post-mortem revealed the baby died as a result of a head injury.
A 16-year-old girl, also arrested on suspicion of murder, was released without charge.
