TV nurse nominated

A LIVERPOOL nurse struck off the register for secretly filming poor standards of care at a hospital was today nominated for a national award.

Margaret Haywood, 58, of Everton, was found of guilty of misconduct by the Nursing Midwifery Council.

The experienced nurse exposed shocking examples of neglect at the Royal Sussex Hospital, in Brighton, for a 2005 BBC Panorama investigation. Now she has been shortlisted for the Nursing Standard's Patient's Choice Award.

Mrs Haywood’s case against being struck off is up for an appeal.
