A LIVERPOOL mother-of-two is preparing to con-quer the Great North Run in memory of her sister, who died from meningitis.
Lucy Evans, 41, from Childwall, decided to take up running after she lost her older sister, Carol English, in January.
Ms Evans said: “Meningitis used to make me think of babies, floppiness and a rash but there are many more symptoms, and the disease can attack anyone – even healthy adults.”
Lucy hopes to raise over £700 towards Meningitis UK’s Search 4 a Vaccine Campaign, which aims to make £7m towards the development of a vaccine.
