A SCHOOL plans to add massage to the lunchtime menu, so staff are as relaxed as pupils.
Last year, Dovedale junior school, in Mossley Hill, used a primary care trust grant to run the Massage In School programme.
But it proved such a hit, the school is using its own budget to keep the sessions going.
Massage teacher Kate Norfolk, who has two children at the school, trains pupils in the relaxing discipline.
Class teachers also help the children master the 17 different massage techniques, which have boosted concentration levels and calmed pupils.
Now teachers are to get in on the act, with head teacher Nik Smith seeing no reason why staff should not benefit from some pre-lesson stress relief.
He said: “We are looking to extend it to staff – maybe during lunchtime.”
