A TEENAGER was today locked up for four years over an arson attack that saw a Merseyside country club reduced to cinders.
Roy Pearson, 15, was one of two youths who carried out the attack on Shorrocks Hill, in Formby, in June.
He admitted his part although has steadfastly refused to name his accomplice.
At Liverpool Crown Court today, Judge Henry Globe QC, Recorder of Liverpool, detained Pearson for four years.
Jason Smith, prosecuting, told the court Pearson was paid just £500 to help carry out the attack, which is estimated to have caused more than £1m damage.
The country club complex was owned, the court was told, by Crosby property developer Terry Riley, who, along with business associate John Ball, has seen his home and businesses attacked on more than 20 occasions since the turn of the year.
The Chinese restaurant, Oriental @ Shorrocks, was left completely gutted by the attack.
