Merseyside police car _320
A MAN was killed after being hit by a car on Merseyside yesterday.
Merseyside Police are investigating following the incident, which happened at around 5.15pm at the junction of Church Road and Kirkstone Road, in Litherland.
Officers and the ambulance service were called to reports a pedestrian had collided with a gold-coloured Ford Galaxy as it travelled towards Switch Island.
The man, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene.
The female driver of the Galaxy stopped and is co-operating with police inquiries.
Church Road was closed for several hours, and drivers were asked to avoid the scene.
