£70,000 plan aims to improve Caldy Nature Park for visitors and wildlife

WORK is due to start on a £70,000 environmental improvement project at a Chester nature park.

The project at Caldy Nature Park has been funded by contributions from the Friends of Caldy and Boughton Heath parish council.

Contributions have also come from developers and a £45,950 grant awarded by WREN, a not for profit business that awardsgrants to community projects across the UKŠon behalf of Waste Recycling Group (WRG).

The work follows extensive consultation between Cheshire West and Chester Council and local schools and community groups.

The money will be used to implement a range of improvements to the park, such as better access, including more seating, repairing and replacing bridges and improving footpaths.

The project also aims to make the park better for wildlife and encourage more people to use and enjoy it.

Boughton Heath andVicars Cross councillor Pamela Hall said: “I am delighted that this work will achieve the necessary improvements to Šmaintain, as Šwell as enhance, the nature park, which is aŠ great local asset.”

The park will remain open during the contract period, but there may be restricted access to some areas.

The work should be completed by Christmas.
