A WIRRAL businessman is behind a new website that handles personal injury claims online.

Mark Brickles, founder of itsmyclaim.com, says because the service puts claimants and defendants directly in touch with each other, it could save huge sums in legal costs.

He hopes the website will “put consumers in control of their own claims” and curb the fees charged by claims farmers and “middlemen” in the personal injury sector.

Potential claimants log the details of their accident using the free-to-use service online.

That information is then registered and the organisation is notified of the claim.

The defendant will in turn investigate the incident and liaise directly with the consumer to provide compensation if they are liable.

In company literature, itsmyclaim.com says it will handle cases “efficiently and effectively without the delaying tactics sometimes employed by accident management companies and designed to increase their fees”.

Bypassing the No Win No Fee accident management companies, it adds, and allowing the consumer direct communication with the defendant organisation, “gives greater transparency to the process and enables the claimant to process any claim of perceived breach of duty of care – regardless of size”.
