A MAJOR £43m college transformation will go ahead next year.
The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) has formally approved the plans to transform Skelmersdale and Ormskirk College, after concluding it is value for money.
The new college will include hairdressing salons, a bistro and new sports facilities.
It was one of around 144 colleges across the country that had their building projects frozen by the LSC in December.
But, in August, The Learning and Skills Council reversed its earlier decision to hold back the cash from their 2010 budget for the college’s extension, and will contribute £32.6m of the £42.8m total cost of the project.
