“I would just say to the Conservatives – stop playing political games with the people of Wirral. Stop destroying everything we are trying to achieve and start to work with us to create an excellent council for all Wirral residents.”
Cllr Lesley Rennie, deputy leader of the Tory group, said it was their “democratic right” to demand the meeting and call on the leadership to resign.
She said: “They asked why didn’t we consult them about the meeting, which is a joke as they did not consult properly with the public about the libraries.”
