Young city carer reaches the final of “Britain’s Kindest Kid”.
AN 11-YEAR-OLD carer has reached the final of a competition to find Britain's Kindest Kid.
Harry Elson has been a carer for his mother, Andrea, for as long as he can remember.
Andrea suffered a stroke soon after Harry’s birth, which left her unable to cope with simple tasks.
Andrea, from West Derby, said: “I am incredibly proud, he has always been on hand to help me. He is definitely worthy of winning this competition, and that is why I nominated him”
Harry said: “I only found out last Wednesday that I reached the final.
“When I found out I was astonished and didn't know what to say. My friends have been fully behind me, and I feel as though they are proud of me.”
Harry’s story is being broadcast every night this week on Channel 5 News at 5pm. The phone lines to vote are open from Friday until Monday.
