BRITAIN’S GCSEs and A-levels should be scrapped and replaced by the International Baccalaureate, the chairman of BT said last night.
Sir Michael Rake joins a growing number of leading businessmen complaining that teenagers are leaving school without basic skills.
He said he believed the education system should move from GCSEs and A-levels to a domestic equivalent of the International Baccalaureate in five years’ time, as A-Levels had been devalued too much.
