Environmental and friendly as Liverpool green fair pulls in the crowds

HOPE STREET turned green yesterday as it hosted a special Year of the Environment-themed fair.

Environmentally friendly goods were available alongside the monthly farmers’ market that closed the city centre road yesterday.

Liverpool City Council’s executive member for the environment, Cllr Berni Turner, said: “Sunday’s Green Fair was a fantastic opportunity for local organisations and producers to get their green message out to residents and visitors.”

The event ran from Faulkner Street to Upper Duke Street and included 38 stalls.

Organisations who took part included Merseytravel and Travelwise, Liverpool’s park rangers, reusable bag company Bagsyit, Eco-Environments, Blackburne House Cafe, Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and Glendale Liverpool.
