Almond Tree pub raided in Skelmersdale

FORTY police officers raided a Skelmersdale pub and recovered 900 imported cigarettes and a small amount of cannabis from a nearby property.

The Almond Tree, on Abbeystead, Skelmersdale, was targeted as part of “Operation Converge”, a month-long crackdown on drug crime organised by Lancashire police.

The raid, which happened at 6.40pm on Saturday, was supported by dog patrols, Customs and excise officers, and local councillors.

Nobody was arrested.
