Man burned in St Helens Newton-le-Willows blaze

A MAN suffered burns to his face, neck, forearms, and both hands after a fire broke out in a car workshop in Haydock last night.

Three fire crews from St Helens and Newton-le-Willows tackled the blaze in the single- storey garage on Haydock Lane, Haydock, at around 6.10pm yesterday evening.

Four cars were destroyed in the fire, which also severely damaged the building.

The 31-year-old victim was taken to Whiston Hospital by ambulance.
