Everton FC fans help hunt for missing Madeleine McCann

THOUSANDS of Everton fans in Portugal showed their support for missing Madeleine McCann.

The travelling supporters were handed T-shirts to wear at last night’s match against Benfica, in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon. The T-shirts were all printed with a picture of the missing youngster in her Everton kit and the declaration: “We’re still looking for you” printed across the front.

It is hoped fans’ efforts at the Europa Cup group clash in the Stadium of Light will re-focus attention on the two-year hunt for Madeleine.

She was just three years old when she went missing from the Portuguese tourist resort Praia de Luz in 2007.

The club printed 6,000 shirts – 3,000 with the slogan in English and 3,000 in Portuguese.

The shirts were given away at the club’s shops and a collection point at Liverpool airport.
