TWO old friends were reunited after more than 60 years, when they realised they were both residents at the same Merseyside nursing home.
Rose Ritchie, 78, and Mary Windsor, 82, first met when they started work at the Packing Case, a factory on Irlam Road, in Bootle, in the 1940s.
But the two girls lost touch after both getting married.
Rose arrived at St Nicholas Nursing Home, Netherton, in April this year and was soon recognised by Mary at a show put on at the home, despite one of them only being 14 the last time they met.
After comparing life stories, they realised where they knew each other from.
The ladies were amazed to run into each other again and couldn’t believe that they had been reunited after all this time.
Angela Zuraw, home manager at Bupa’s St Nicholas Nursing Home, said: “Both residents are overjoyed at finding one another again.
“They’ve been sharing stories from the old days and love each other’s company.
“it’s like they’ve never been apart.”
