Elton John cancels concert date as Liverpool Echo Arena gig nears

SIR Elton John has had to postpone a third UK show on his Red Piano tour as he battles with illness.

The star was due to play Wembley Arena in London today, but the show has now been pulled to allow him to rest and recover.

At present, he is still due to play a Liverpool date at the Echo Arena tomorrow.

A statement from the show’s promoter, Marshall Arts, said: “Elton continues to be unwell.

“It is hoped that he will make a speedy recovery so that further information can be made available.”

Promoters are in discussions to reschedule the Wembley concert for a date in December.

It is also aiming to find new dates for other shows in Sheffield and Newcastle which had to be dropped last week.
