MORE than a third of married people surveyed in Liverpool wish they were with someone else, according to new research from legal website lawoptions.co.uk
It’s what they call the “Char-milla effect”, due to the relationship between Prince Charles and Camilla “fitting the model perfectly”.
The study also said 40% of married people from across the North-West would prefer to stay single.
From those surveyed in Liverpool, 22% admitted that their marriage was plodding along and they were stuck in a rut.
Hazel Roberts, head of family law for lawoptions.co.uk said: “It would seem the ‘Char-milla effect’ is very prominent in British marriages.”
The study of 3,000 married British couples also found that more than a third feel trapped in their relationship.
For 35% of people, it has got so bad they have considered, or gone through, a trial separation. A third had even thought about divorce.
But 32% of those decided not to go through with it.
Another 28% were desperate to keep the family together, while a quarter just didn’t think they could afford to get divorced.
Others didn’t want the hassle, or simply didn’t know how to go about getting a divorce.
