A DESIGN trail leading through the heart of the city centre will add a twist to one of Liverpool’s most stylish annual events.
Liverpool Design Festival starts on Friday and runs until November 8.
From an art and artisan fair in the Atrium of the Empire Theatre and an exhibition of Hope University’s students work at the Philharmonic Hall, to a collection of jewellery based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at Metquarter and the impressive East Meets West artwork adorning the windows of Hope Street restaurant HoST, the free trail can be scouted online or by map.
Fashion masterclasses and the best of eco design will also be among the highlights of the two- week design festival.
Director Sarah Elderkin said: “Liverpool Design Week is a celebration of design and fashion that confirms Liverpool as a hub of creative talent.
“There truly is something for everyone.”
The Eco Design Show is open to the public and takes place over Saturday and Sunday in the Crypt of the Metropolitan Cathedral.
Ms Elderkin added: “The Eco Design Show is all about showing off the best in high-quality design to challenge the common misconceptions that exist about eco design.
“All our exhibitors have placed eco-design practices at the heart of their work, and visitors to the show will be amazed to see what can be recycled and reused.”
Visitors to the show can also meet city designer Ilsa Parry, winner of BBC2’s recent Design For Life.
