Man charged with murder after Liverpool nurse found dead at home

A MAN was charged with murder after a Liverpool nurse was found dead in her own home.

Police discovered the body of Katherine Cullen, 34, after forcing their way into her house.

She had suffered serious head injuries and what is thought to be multiple stab wounds to her body.

Yesterday, staff at Liverpool heart and chest hospital, in Broadgreen, where the senior nurse worked, expressed their condolences to her family.

Ms Cullen’s body was found at her home in Harcourt Street, Stockport, on Thursday. Police were called shortly before 8.50am, when a neighbour raised concerns for Ms Cullen’s welfare.

Iman Saeed Ghaefelipour, 28, of Urmston, was charged with murder and is due to appear in court next January.
