A CELEBRATION of a 1920s African-American dance will be held at a city museum.
The Lindy Hop used to break out whenever people partied, gaining its name and a home when the Savoy Ballroom opened in Harlem, New York.
The dance went onto new heights, with popular Saturday night competitions pushing the boundaries.
New steps were born every day and it gained a refined style which made it a joy to watch.
Now, a group called the Jiving Lindy Hoppers will be performing at Liverpool’s Maritime Museum, on the Albert Dock, as part of a series of events which have been held to mark Black History Month.
The free event will take place in the newly-opened Maritime Dining Rooms tomorrow night, from 7pm-11pm.
