The dispute with Sodexo puts the hospital Trust in the middle of the two warring parties, despite having authorised the company to implement the improved terms for staff.
Mr Baker added: “I’ve returned to the company and Chief Executive asking them to use their influence to avoid any more difficulties and make sure these people get what they’re owed.
“Some were paid in February but these were incomplete and not itemised, so it could not be identified what they were in respect of.
“I have advised the Chief Executive of the Trust because it should be remembered the hospital has paid for Sodexo’s services.
“These people are key workers – if there was a problem, the hospital could not function.”
A spokeswoman for Sodexo said: “We have been working closely with Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust with regards to any further payments required in relation to the Agenda for Change legislation, and are striving to ensure that these payments are made before Christmas.”
The hospital Trust is hopeful a deal will be done before Christmas. A spokeswoman for the hospital said: “The Liverpool Women's board of directors approved in full the implementation of Agenda for Change terms and conditions for Sodexo staff including basic pay arrears in November, 2008.
“The Trust gave Sodexo full authorisation to implement the pay increases and to recharge the Trust accordingly.
“We are assured by Sodexo this will be paid to their staff before Christmas.”
