THOUSANDS of homes across Wirral will have their bin collection days changed in the next few weeks.
New calendars with the changes for green and grey wheelie bins are being sent out, affecting a third of households.
Wirral Council and its contractor Biffa said they have restructured collection rounds to make the service even more efficient – with trucks travelling 27,000 fewer miles a year in total.
Cllr Jean Quinn, cabinet member for streetscene and transport services, said: “A lot of work has been put into ensuring that, where collections days are changing, there is a smooth transition.
“However, a large part of this process will be reliant on residents reading their calendars and heeding the advice, ensuring the right bin goes out on the right day.”
The new collection dates are effective from Monday, November 16.
