Chocolatier wraps up his business as recession bites
“As soon as I walked through the door and smelled the chocolate I was intoxicated.
“I knew nothing about making chocolate at that point, but thought ‘I want to run this business’.
“And we’ve had a good 10 years. We started doing chocolate for the Atkins diet before the supermarkets got into it and at one stage employed two people making 1,500 bars a week.”
He said the decision to shut the shop had been a tough one.
Mr Lang said: “You have to look at what you have been doing, what you think will happen and what is happening now. The recession will not get any better for another six months, and you have to think will you survive those six months and I know the way we are going the answer is no.”
