A CANNABIS farmer was jailed for growing plants with a street value of more than £22,000 in his city centre flat.
Tenant Liam Ramsey was only caught when he failed to pay his rent and his landlord went to check the premises in Park Lane, Liverpool One.
He discovered his 24-year-old tenant was using the £700-a-month flat to grow cannabis plants with a hydroponic heating system.
Police also discovered cocaine in the flat and £1,000 cash in a wardrobe.
Ramsey, of Dovestone Close, Edge Hill, admitted cannabis production and possession with intent to supply both cocaine and cannabis.
Liverpool Crown Court heard he was a “hard-working young man” who had developed a drug habit.
He was jailed for two years.
