A service of remembrance starts at 10.55am at the Cenotaph on St George's Plateau.
This will be the last year Colonel J Graeme Bryson, OBE, will be providing the service.
At 12 noon today, the Lord Mayor plants the first cross in St John's Gardens.

SEFTON
Mayor and Mayoress of Sefton, Cllrs Alf Doran and Gill Cuthbertson, will be at a service at the War Memorial, Five Lamps, in Waterloo, at 10.55am and Holy Trinity Church, Rosemary Lane, Formby at 3pm.
The deputy Mayor, Cllr Maureen Fearn, will be at the War Memorial, King's Gardens, Bootle at 10.55am.
Also services at cenotaphs in Aintree, Ainsdale, Crosby, Formby, Hightown, Ince Blundell, Litherland, Maghull and Southport.
