A WINDSURFER had to be rescued from West Kirby Marine Lake after becoming stranded.
The Bebington man, in his 30s, was pulled towards the lake wall by strong winds and high tides at around noon yesterday.
The alarm was raised by a passer-by and West Kirby lifeboat went out to rescue him.
Paul Harrison, of Liverpool Coastguard, said: “The man had become so exhausted by the strength of the wind and tide, he become stranded.
“If people are thinking of going windsurfing in the lake in conditions like these, then I would suggest they don’t go out alone.”
