Morrissey is hit on the head by a bottle of water 300
“With regards to tickets, we are in discussion with the promoter and a statement will be made at the earliest possible opportunity.”
Shortly after Saturday night’s concert, Les Adams, from Wirral, said: “I’m gutted. I saw it hit him on the head. I can understand why he walked off but I think he’s punishing us by not coming back.
“We’ve tried a few times to get tickets to see him and I was thrilled to come tonight.”
“He was totally on form and it looked like it was going to be a great concert.”
Andy Pearce, of Maghull, has been a Morrissey fan for years and said he was "disgusted" at the person who threw the drink.
He said: “I can’t blame him for going off. Would you come back if somebody threw something in your face?”
Liverpool councillor Paul Clein said he hopes the arena does not earn itself a reputation for trouble.
He asked the city council, which owns the Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool, if managers would consider banning alcohol from the auditorium at a meeting last month.
Cllr Clein had witnessed a drunken brawl at a Leonard Cohen gig.
He said: “It’s a wonderful facility and something we’ve needed for a long time. You’ve got hundreds of thousands of people having a wonderful time and you’ve got a tiny minority that are causing problems and we don’t want the place getting a reputation.”
