THE Daily Post website – liverpooldailypost.co.uk – has received numerous comments about the Morrissey walk-off since breaking the story on Saturday night:
rach3 wrote: “What a shame that someone decides to throw something, plastic cup, bottle or otherwise at another person.
“I was there and completely support Morrissey's decision to end the show after this incident. The perpetrator's behaviour is completely unacceptable.”
lucywirral said: “I was at the concert with my family, my Mum having waited 20 years to see him. I cannot express how disappointed everyone was, and how shocked we were at what happened. A genuine fan wouldn't throw a drink at him – or at least a sober fan.”
daisyprudence wrote: “The idiot who threw the bottle should be prosecuted....or thrown in the Mersey!
“It was really unfortunate that Morrissey got a direct hit, but for the entire crowd to be punished for one person’s total lack of respect seems harsh.”
Upset said:“I am so sick about this. He started the show with the words ‘It’s Liverpool, it’s Saturday, it’s raining, and it’s perfect’.
“Huge cheer, then five minutes later he goes down on one knee to sing and some lunatic hurls beer on him.”
CAVALIER1: “The glass thrown by the amoeba could have contained literally anything.
“Perhaps that's why Morrissey didn’t come back.”
KenB: “I was at the Eddie Izzard show last week and Eric Clapton last year, and people were taking glass beer bottles and plastic water bottles back to their seats.
“When security and safety are bypassed for the sake of money, there's always the chance that something like this will happen.”
